Matar Wale Chawal

A delicious one pot meal which goes well with home made curd.

Ingredients

One glass of rice, 1 large onion, 2 tomatoes, 2 cups of matar, 2 teaspoons of jeera, 3 tablespoons ghee or cooking oil, salt and red chilli powder to taste.

Method

Take one glass of rice wash and keep aside. Chop one large onion and two tomatoes and keep aside. Take two cups of frozen matar and wash and keep aside. Heat 3 tablespoons of ghee or cooking oil in a pan. Add two teaspoons of jeera and fry for a short time. Add the chopped onions and let them cook till slightly translucent. Add chopped tomatoes and cook them slightly. Add matar and rice along with two glasses of water and salt and red chilli powder to taste. Bring the water to a boil and turn the flame to sim. Let it cook till water has dried. Serve hot with curd.
