Quick and Easy Dal

Ingredients

1/2 katori washed masoor dal (pink dal), 1/2 katori washed moong dal, 1 glass of water, 1 teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon pure ghee, 2 teaspoons jeera seeds, 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, freshly chopped green coriander leaves.

Method

1/2 katori washed masoor dal (pink dal) and 1/2 katori washed moong dal. Wash it nicely. Add one glass of water and one teaspoon turmeric and one teaspoon salt. Pressure cook it and switch off the gas after the first whistle. Once the steam is cooled open the pressure cooker and heat one tablespoon of pure ghee in a small karahi. When the ghee is hot add two teaspoons of jeera seeds to it. Switch off the gas once the jeera seeds are brown and add half teaspoon of red chili powder to the ghee. Add this ghee to the dal. Bring it to boil once. Garnish with freshly chopped green coriander leaves. Serve hot with rotis.
